The inspection follows the National Fire Prevention Code (NFC), Section 6 we refer to the standard # 20 of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA # 20).
ANNUAL INSPECTION
A pump test or performance test should be conducted annually by a specialized firm and licensed by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.
Performance tests are conducted using special equipment including, among others:
A pitot tube;
Different precision calibrated pressure gauges;
Diffusers T (Hose Monster);
High-pressure hoses.
A full report, including a performance curve (issued according tables hydraulic calculations), is produced for each fire pump.
